How do we Collaborate to make a custom buckle?

So you have an idea for a belt buckle for someone special, and you are having a hard time finding something that you know they will like, since they have a decent collection already? Work with Cityboy Forge and we’ll make them a one of a kind buckle that you know they’ll wear all the time. Here’s the process in a nutshell:

A custom buckle starts with a client’s idea for a buckle.

This idea started with a grainy little picture. The buckle would be a Father’s Day gift.

Photoshopped options are presented.

The idea is filtered by the blacksmith.

We maximize the original file and add a layer of pencil lines over the image.

Final mockup and details approved.

The pencil lines will be carved, the trout will be made in sterling.

Then we get to work.

And This Is What We Made Together

Happy

For a very special dad who built a little cabin for his family on the edge of the grid. He taught his three little kids how to cast for rainbows in that little spring creek. So with the help of Mom and the kids, Cityboy Forge went to work from a grainy photo of the little cabin on the creek. To a hand carved, silver plated steel trout buckle.

Father’s

Loaded with specific details down to the individual logs, the standing seam steel roof and Ol’ Glory on its flag pole. Oh yeah and a sterling silver hand hammered little trout, like the ones dad taught the kids how to catch.
Because like we always say: “The back of the buckle is just as important as the front.”

Day

This is a great example of how we make the back special too. We had each kid write their initials (inset) and then we carved those into the back of the buckle. Dad’s name is stamped in the upper right. A father’s day gift he’ll never forget. (And never have to wash - like those socks you were thinking of getting him.)
